Welcome to CREIE

CREIE is an outcome of a Kauffman Foundation Campus Initiative and grant to infuse entrepreneurship into UTEP’s education, research, administration, and outreach activities. The Center was established to create a central identity for entrepreneurship, technology transfer and commercialization at UTEP.

Our Vision is to become nationally recognized as both the vehicle for commercializing research and technology at UTEP and the engine for economic development in the Paso del Norte region.

Our Mission is:
  • To develop and execute a plan to stimulate innovation and unify campus initiatives in technology transfer, entrepreneurship and commercialization at the University of El Paso (UTEP).
  • To incorporate the commercialization strategy of UTEP to promote innovations and create new businesses and licenses.
  • To foster symbiotic relationships with the Office of Technology Transfer and the Kauffman Campus Initiative (KCI) to facilitate the mission of KCI initiatives in research, development, education and outreach.
  • To develop formal relationships with major corporations and other organizations in targeted industries.
