The purpose of the Research Initiative for Scientific Enhancement (*RISE) Program at UTEP

is to enchance the research experience for students at minority serving institutions.  The overall goal is to increase the interest, skills, and competitiveness of students in pursuit of biomedical research careers.

The RISE Program provides stipends to qualified students in Biological Sciences and Engineering to perform undergraduate research during the academic year.  Working under a faculty mentor, students have opportunities to work in research while attending UTEP and working towards their degree.

YOU could be one of the limited number of students receiving this stipend.  Stipends are between $1,000 - $2,000 per semester and are awarded based on qualifications and availability of funding.
