Fridays were half days in which the Prep Participants had a guest speaker and did Mars Work until 12:30 pm.

Participant Assistance
Several students in TexPREP also participated in the Workforce Investment Act (WIA). WIA is in partnership with the Educational Talent Search Program headed by Dr. Sandre Braham and with the Upper Rio Grande Workforce. The Upper Rio Grande Workforce provided support to participants. Participants received up to $200 per week for the duration of the program.

Participant Incentives
The Texas Education Agency has authorized participating school districts to award up to one elective credit towards high school graduation for the successful completion of each summer of TexPREP. However, it is up to the individual school district boards to approve the credit and the amount (up to 1 credit) to be awarded for each summer’s participation. The majority of the local school districts awarded credit for the successful completion of TexPREP.
