Welcome!

Founded at the University of Texas at El Paso in 2002, the university-wide Center for Research on Educational Reform (CRER)  builds on over a decade of significant experience in educational reform at the K-16 levels.  The Center for Research on Educational Reform has been awarded approximately $14 million dollars in funding. 

Our Mission

  • To conduct broad-based and multidisciplinary research on educational reform in elementary, secondary, and post-secondary education
  • To address important questions about the impact of educational reform efforts based on studies in El Paso and elsewhere
  • To disseminate our findings both locally and nationally to aid in national education reform and in the improvement of education in the El Paso community and beyond
  • To strengthen capacity for faculty and graduate students to conduct research in a variety of educationally-related areas
