El Paso Mathematics and Science Partnership (MSP)
funded by The National Science Foundation for $2.6 million dollars from 10/01/02 to 9/30/07
Principal Investigator: Dr. Susana Navarro
Co-Principal Investigator: Dr. Arturo Pacheco
The Center’s budget for its portion of the large multi-faceted NSF funded MSP grant ($29 million) is $2.6 million over five years. The Center’s principal focus is the development of a research agenda for the MSP grant, along with providing research training for the MSP project’s staff developers, and support for teacher initiated classroom action research projects. Along with these efforts is a study of a pilot teacher induction system, for both traditionally and alternatively prepared new teachers, and a candidate support system for experienced teachers wishing to sit for National Board certification.
