Southwest Consortium for Environmental Research & Policy    is dedicated to building capacity and using science to provide sustainable solutions to environmental problems in the U.S. - Mexican border region. The purpose of a border-wide GIS is to develop and implement an information management system that provides access to current, reliable and consistent information from throughout the border region. Its focus is to better define border issues and assist local, regional and binational organizations working to improve the quality of life and sustainability. The Paso del Norte Maps for Public Access group seeks to serve the project management needs in the Paso del Norte Region.

Health                                                                                                                                              

US-Mexico Border Health Commission    Secure Access to the Border Health Information Network Extranet for Health Professionals. This site offers free access to Interactive Maps, Data, Forums and other tools to improve collaboration with other professionals working to improve the health of the border. The Center for Border Health Research allows health researchers among other things to query the Texas Hospital Discharge Database. The CBHR coordinates research efforts in health which are conducted in the Paso del Norte region to ensure that there is a sound, well-coordinated research agenda that leads to improvements in the health status of the border populations.

Geographical Information Systems                                                                                                   

The Step-it-up initiative of the Paso del Norte Health Foundation funded a project administered by CERM to promote cycling as an alternative  physical activity. This project focused on mapping several road, recreational and ountain biking trails in Juárez and El Paso. This project becomes the foundation of SunRides, A Ciclists Guide for the Paso del Norte.
