    Protect Your Family

If you suspect you may have any lead-related hazard in your home, you can take some immediate measures to reduce the risk to your family, such as:

    • Check is any paint is peeling or falling off.
    • Weekly cleaning of floors and window ledges and frames, other surfaces.Use a mop or sponge with warm water and an all-purpose cleanser.
    • Completely rinse sponges and mops after cleaning dirty or dusty areas.
    • Wash children's hands often, especially before eating, before naps and before going to bed.
    • Keep play areas clean. Wash baby bottles, teething rings, toys and plush toys on a regular basis.
    • Wipe your shoes before coming into the house.
    • Make sure children are eating nutritious foods that are low in fat and high in iron and calcium, such as spinach and dairy products. Children with a good diet absorb less lead.
    • Run water for 1 to 2 minutes if water had not been used during 5 hours. Use only cold water to drink and cook.
