The Model Institutions for Excellence Program was recognized with one of the six 2005 Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board’s Star Award on October 10th at the Coordinating Board’s 2005 Governing Boards Conference. The MIE program received the award in recognition of its contributions towards meeting the goals of Closing the Gaps by 2015, a plan adopted by the Coordinating Board that establishes four goals: closing the educational gap in student participation, student success, excellence and research.
