All investigators must complete human subject research ethics training in order to conduct research on the UTEP campus. This training must be repeated every three years.

If you have completed IRB ethics training in the recent past, please get a copy of your completion certificate to the IRB office right away. You may email it or upload the certificate to IRBNet as one of your study documents.

If you have never completed such training, you can complete the UTEP online training in about 10 or 15 minutes at the UTEP Compliance Training site.

Contact the UTEP Compliance Office at 915 747-6478 or complianceoffice@utep.edu to arrange to have the IRB compliance module added to your training set. You need to request the module called:

20001--IRB, HUMAN SUBJECT RESEARCH, & ETHICS

Download or copy the certificate from the site and get that to the IRB office once you have completed the training module.

Students & Non-UTEP Employees:

Students and non-UTEP employees can download a PowerPoint version of the training and the test or in the forms library on IRBNet. Students and non-UTEP employees may submit a copy of the completed test in place of the completion certificate. Once you’ve completed your IRB test you may either email or fax it to our office to the following contact information:
